The glittery shiny world of the rich and loaded is always a surprise to the rest of us down here coexisting at the bottom of society. Their habits, lives, dos and don’ts amaze us, flabbergast us – yet at some level we wish that was our life, our house, our collection of jewelers, cars, yachts and much more.
From the old to the very young a few of the below might just blow you off.
- Bill Gates:
Any list which includes the top Richie riches of the world is incomplete without Bill Gates – the founder of Microsoft is today worth just over $70 Billion, Forbes estimate put him closer to $75 Billion in greens. However for him it wasn’t passed down from father to son – a Harvard dropout – Bill has had it tough, until he founded his company which literally changed the world we live in and how we operate. Married with three children – he’s now retired but still has a hold on the company he built from scratch.
- Mark Zuckerberg:
The youngest billionaire around worth estimated at $44 Billion, Mark is one those who like to keep to themselves. Although his rise to the top is sketchy and portrayed as a tough climb at times – mixed with his creativity and the ability to bring us all together the founder of Facebook is a self-proclaimed nerd and geek. Married with a child, he tied the knot around 3 years ago and lives a comfy cozy life in his California home with properties in New York and Florida. Recently he accepted a position as a board member in a company founded by Stephen Hawking.
- Carlos Slim Helu:
This mogul built his fortune from scratch – owner of the largest telecommunications company in the world between 2010 – 2013 he was ranked the richest person on the planet. Today he’s worth just over $50 Billion and is the CEO of Samsung Mexico, Telmex and America Movil. Making almost $30 Million a day in the era when he ruled supreme, and although he can he doesn’t indulge – the billionaire has driven himself to work each day with a bunch of guards following him and lives in a modest 6 bedroom house in Mexico City.
- Prince AlWaleed Bin Talal AlSaud:
As is with Bill Gates no list is complete without mentioning the Arab Connection, a billionaire banker, investor, philanthropist – Prince AlWaleed hails from the oil rich kingdom of Saudi Arabia – nnot many people have families who have countries named after them. AlWaleed spends his time yachting around the world from one meeting to another, with a collection of over 2 dozen luxury vehicles, homes across North America, Europe and of course a palace or two in Saudi Arabia – Prince AlWaleed whose worth Forbes puts at around $17.3 Billion made his money first in investment banking and then moved on.
